These pieces were created during the pandemic and fires and are part of a larger ongoing body of work. The studio provides a place of respite from the chaos happening around the world. My goal is to work nearly everyday on several small pieces at a time. I allow myself to experiment, making marks and responding without a preconceived idea of the outcome. While I haven’t worked every day, I found that joining challenges and documenting the art on Instagram helps me stay accountable to the near daily practice. To date I have painted, drawn, collaged, and made my mark on over 150 pieces of paper. All pieces are varnished with cold wax, mounted on a panel and framed in a black wood floating frame.
